3D logos are becoming more popular.

3rd Dimension

With increases in graphic technology, many companies are now making 3 dimensional logos. As you can see from these examples, there are different ways to achieve a 3 dimensional look.

One way is to shade your graphic like the Apple® logo. Apple's logo looks like a shiny piece of candy (or eye-candy!) sitting on a wall. It is rendered so well, it almost looks like you could pick it up and pop it in your mouth! You'll need a good photo manipulation program like Photoshop and 3D software to make this effect. 3D rendering could be a whole new tutorial, so unless you have some familiarity with 3D software, you could also try a different approach, such as with the Corel® logo.

These logos use shapes and planes to give a 3D effect. The Corel logo effectively gives the illusion of objects circling around a man's head. The objects are just simple squares, but can you see how making the "nearer" squares larger, and "farther" squares smaller and flatter creates the effect?

As with Motion, we're starting to get into some advanced logo techniques. Don't worry if you are not able to pull these off. The examples above are some of the best when it comes to 3D, but most of the world's logos do not rely on any special effects. 3D logos are mostly popular with high tech companies, so if your company's image doesn't seem to be the right fit for 3D, don't worry, there are plenty of other techniques to learn and pursue.

Now lets learn about the Double Meaning...
